In a strategic move to bolster Skill Education, Assessment, and the enhancement of teacher capabilities, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently entered into 15 memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with a range of skill providers.
This forward-looking initiative was unveiled on Sunday, with CBSE teaming up with distinguished skill facilitators, including Atal Innovation Mission, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, along with domain-specific bodies like Apparel Made-Ups and Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council, Automotive Sector Skill Council, Sports, Physical Education, Fitness and Leisure Skills Council, Logistics Sector Skill Council, Furniture and Fittings Sector Skill Council, Life Sciences Sector Skill Council, Textiles Sector Skill Council, and Healthcare Sector Skill Council.
These collaborations serve a comprehensive purpose: to equip students with a diverse skill set and ensure the availability of top-notch infrastructure, coupled with exposure to cutting-edge technologies. The collaborative efforts are anticipated to create a robust ecosystem for nurturing expertise.

CBSE’s official statement expounded that these partners will also contribute significantly to the formulation of skill-based modules, crafting study materials for skill-centric subjects, orchestrating competitions and hackathons to stimulate students’ creative faculties, and conducting effective training programs for teachers.
In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP), the Central Square Foundation (CSF) will play a supportive role in CBSE’s endeavor by aiding in SAFAL, a competency-grounded census assessment for grades 3, 5, and 8. The focus here is on school development through comprehensive assessments. The partners will collaboratively design and implement quality competency-based assessments for the SAFAL program across the mentioned grades.
Further enriching this initiative, two renowned entities, Educational Initiatives Pvt. Ltd and Oxford University Press India, will undertake the responsibility of creating training manuals for the development of a Competency-Based Capacity Building Programme (CBP) tailored for teachers in the domains of English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science.
The strategic partnerships signify CBSE’s commitment to fostering a holistic educational framework, integrating essential skills, innovative assessment methodologies, and robust teacher development programs. This multifaceted approach is poised to shape a new paradigm in education, in line with contemporary requirements and aspirations.
